Bringing Online Shopping To A Whole New Level!

When you join a new community you get those email that are asking you to join or buy their product. You've never seen their names before and they want you to jump on board.
I really like to get to know people. One of the best things about MLM is that you don't have to work with everyone that comes along. You get to pick the people you work with. So why would you send and email asking someone to sign up today to make millions of dollar. Another hoot! The hype! You can make millions of dollar next week. Get real! You don't know me or my skill or lack of skill. If I buy into the hype chances are I know very little about his industry or profession (as I like to think of it).
Sometimes you have to slow down to speed up. I have learned that taking the time to get to know someone is the best way to build a business. I spent 3 hours at a networking event and walked out with 15 business cards. Some I just wanted to thank them for taking time to talk with me and others were interested in the service I offered. I never spoke about the business of it. There was a gentlemen who walked up and asked me for a business card and showed me the pile he had collected. You know they went into the shoe box never to be touched again. How could he contact any of them? He didn't know anything about them. Just call and ask them to use your product or service. How do you start that conversation? I got your business card and WHAT?
I really enjoy meeting people and finding out about them. Getting their permission to contact them if they are interested or just to say thank you. The value of that is behond measure.
I think SLOWING down to go FASTER is the best business decision I ever made. I have also created some really great friends and contacts. Also some great customers.
What are some of your experiences in this area? I would enjoy hearing from you as I am starting to put together a talk on Relationship Marketing. I appreciate your input and look forward to getting to know you.

Sincerely

Linda

Hi Linda,
You are correct on this aspect of social networks. This is a place to build relationships, anyone
who would expect me to immediately join their businses without doing "do diligence" is just
dreaming. They have apparently believed all the "hype" their super promoting upline has
passed out to them. It is my practice to direct individuals to my informational site, let them
review all the information about the program and than get in contact with me to learn about my
personal experiences with the service which I market. I want the individuals to think about
what I have to offer and although it is a excellent money making program, I feel the individual
needs to have a use for our services befor e joining. I am not interested in short term
profits which as the name implies is "short term". If a person uses our services and are satisfied,
they will stay with me. When you see someone's name on the leader board for several programs,
you can be certain they are after quick profits and will not be providing much training or support.

I have been the number 2 or 3 person below some of the "top hitters" and guess what, I never
heard from them, once I sent them my money.

Hi Jim,

I've been away for awhile. Thanks for your response. I really like building relationships with the people I sign up in my business. The true blessing in MLM is that you do not have to work with just anyone. The short term profit is fun but the long term residual is the real goal. Once you get past that short term shortage and build your resudial income thats the best. I have the prepaid legal plan and the idenity thief plan, wouldn't be without it. I respect your choice of companies. Wishing you huge success!
Thanks

Have you been attending any of Carl's training sessions? He provides some teally good information.

Well, this is very true BUT social networking is all about working together. You do need to build relationships as that is how you develop traust and security. There is a time and place to do business and the time is not on the first point of contact. You need to know what the person is interested in and andat that point, you will know whether to share business ventures or not.

I have been marketing 26 years and I have had my successes and failures like anyone else. That's the learning curve of business but building relationships is also part of that. Anyone that is involved in social networking knows that business will enter the arena at some point. If they are not prepared to deal with that, they should need to state it.

The purpose of the Home Based Times is to develop relationships and then business relationships. We are doing this by daisy chaining the social networking environment to us. We have the tool that is needed to succeed at getting exposure on the Internet whether it be for business or pleasure. It is also our goal to provide it to the social networking community so that they can use it for that purpose.

I hope this explains us,

Carl.

Hello Carl,

Hello Carl,
Thanks for the response to my message. You have been marketing for a while now. You must be very used to getting constance request to join my business. I can appreciate wanting to build your downline but I think I want to know the people I am working with. I haven't ever worked online like this. I am one of those people who loves the face to face meetings. I am getting used to the internet and how people have such quick access to you. When you meet people face to face I can get a better feel for who they are. It takes more time for me here. What's is really fun to me is that I have a friend who has been working online for 14 years now this is the best way for her. If I take her out networking she is out of her element and vice a verse for me. I look forward to getting to know you.

Regards,

Linda Cameron

The Queen of JOY! I like that. Thanks for your response to my comment. I really do enjoy getting to know people. Slow down to speed up is the best lesson I ever got. The greeting card business is all about that. I meet people at networking events and send them a card that just says nice to meet you. I enjoy just reaching out one card at a time to offer that JOY! I look forward to getting to know you.

Sincerely,

Linda Cameron

Velma, sorry about the delay, really not sure how these forums work and just found your reply. You are correct,
A great example that one should follow:

A Butterfly;
That on a rough, hard rock
Happy can lie;

Friendless and all alone
On this unsweetened stone.

Now let my bed be hard
No care take have I

I'll make my joy like this
Small Butterfly;

Whose happy heart has power
To make a stone a flower.

Linda, again sorry for the delayed response. The fact about relationship building is quite true. I have some
challenges with some of my downline, trying to slow them down (especially those in the Big cities. they want everything done in a minute. One lost a big group acco;unt just because he became impatient with their not immediately responding to a questionaire. He was looking at a group in excess of 10,000 participants. this made him quite sad, but I think he learned a good lesson.
Until next time, I remain his servant

This is a great thread Linda. I'm sure you are expressing the feelings of many people when you talk about people who come on like a MACK truck with their product and promises. It never appealed to me and the real friends I made over the years on the internet were all people who introduced themselves first, let me know who they were and what they liked. I have been in the HYIP scene, where its high risk and don't trust anyone, and yet some of my best friends came from there. I was involved in a business which almost worked, you laugh when I say almost, because I put a lot of money in it, when I still had it. Eventually it went down the drain, but friends I made in the process were the most precious aspect of it all. It has never worked to be up front with your business and you are of course totally right in saying that people who operate that way can't possibly be good business partners. They have one thing in mind and one thing only, and that is the almighty dollar. Mind you we'd all like to have enough of it to look after our aches and pains, both mentally and physically speaking, but to be all consumed by $$$$$$$$$$$'s is the real sign of ego. After all we'd like to ALL contribute to a conversation wouldn't we ?! So yes Linda, I'm all for networking my way to the things I love and money is only the means towards them. You can't put a price tag on friendship. And speaking of...I would be honoured if you would be mine.

I appreciate your response. I really do enjoy meeting new people and the internet is a pretty new experience for me. I have been out here now for a little while and I'm getting more comfortable with the working of forums. I have a friend who has been working the internet for over 12 years and is very good with responsing to those emails from people trying to sign her up in their MLM. She is so good at it that lots of them end up signing up with her. I always laugh when she tells me how she works with them.
I look forward to getting to know you. Thanks for your comments!
Linda
